Terms & Conditions
Sit Down & Beyond Terms & Conditions as of 5/20/2026
Evaluations
All new clients may be required to complete an evaluation before participating in Boarding, Board & Train, Day Training, Adventures, or other applicable services. Evaluations help determine whether a dog is suitable for a particular program and identify any safety, behavioral, or management concerns.
Completion of an evaluation does not guarantee acceptance into any program.
Vaccination Requirements
All dogs must be current on legally required vaccinations and any additional vaccinations required by Sit Down & Beyond. Proof of vaccination may be required before services begin.
Flea & Tick Prevention
All dogs participating in Boarding, Board & Train, Day Training, Adventures, or any service involving contact with other dogs or a trainer's home must be maintained on a veterinarian-approved prescription flea and tick preventative, such as Bravecto®, Simparica®, NexGard®, or an equivalent product approved by Sit Down & Beyond. Over-the-counter flea and tick products may not be accepted.
If a dog is found to have fleas, flea dirt, ticks, or evidence of an active flea infestation while participating in services, Sit Down & Beyond reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate services until the issue has been fully resolved.
If a client's dog causes a flea or tick infestation in a trainer's home, vehicle, or on company property, the client agrees to reimburse Sit Down & Beyond for all reasonable costs associated with inspection, treatment, cleaning, extermination, replacement of contaminated items when necessary, and any related expenses incurred to eliminate the infestation.
Health & Behavior Disclosure
Clients agree to provide accurate and complete information regarding their dog's health, medications, allergies, injuries, behavioral history, bite history, and any known safety concerns.
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
Dogs exhibiting signs of contagious illness may not participate in services.
Equipment Requirements
Clients are responsible for providing properly fitted collars, identification tags, harnesses, medications, food, and any other necessary supplies.
Sit Down & Beyond reserves the right to require specific equipment when necessary for safety.
Boarding
Boarding takes place in the private home of a Sit Down & Beyond trainer. Dogs are treated as members of the household and integrated into daily life whenever appropriate.
Sit Down & Beyond reserves the right to relocate a dog to another approved trainer or caretaker if safety, health, scheduling, or operational needs require it.
Transportation Authorization
Clients authorize Sit Down & Beyond to transport their dog by vehicle as necessary to provide scheduled services, including but not limited to training sessions, adventures, boarding transfers, veterinary care, emergency treatment, and other activities related to the services purchased.
While reasonable precautions are taken to ensure every dog's safety during transport, clients acknowledge that transportation carries inherent risks and agree that Sit Down & Beyond shall not be liable for incidents beyond its reasonable control.
Dog Interactions
Clients understand that many Sit Down & Beyond services involve controlled interactions with other dogs. Although every reasonable precaution is taken to promote safety, dogs are animals and their behavior can be unpredictable.
Clients acknowledge that scratches, punctures, bites, illness, and other injuries may occur despite appropriate supervision and management.
Off-Leash Adventures & GPS Tracking
Clients enrolling in Off-Leash Adventures or any service that includes off-leash activities acknowledge that these services involve additional inherent risks.
Dogs may be equipped with GPS tracking devices, long lines, safety equipment, and other management tools selected by Sit Down & Beyond. While these tools significantly improve safety, they do not eliminate all risks associated with off-leash activities.
Sit Down & Beyond reserves the sole discretion to determine whether weather, wildlife activity, terrain, equipment, environmental conditions, or a dog's behavior make off-leash participation appropriate on any given day.
Medications
Clients must provide all medications in their original labeled containers together with written dosing instructions.
Sit Down & Beyond will make reasonable efforts to administer medications as instructed but cannot guarantee every dose will be successfully administered.
Clients remain responsible for ensuring an adequate supply of medications throughout their dog's stay.
Personal Property
Clients understand that bedding, toys, collars, leashes, harnesses, bowls, crates, clothing, and other personal belongings may become dirty, damaged, chewed, or lost during normal participation in services.
Sit Down & Beyond is not responsible for the repair or replacement of personal property unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Scheduling & Cancellations
Appointments may be rescheduled up to forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled service.
Appointments cancelled within forty-eight (48) hours of the scheduled service, no-shows, and same-day cancellations may be treated as completed services and deducted from any package, membership, or service balance.
Experts Only and Off-Leash Academy members may schedule make-up days within the same calendar month, subject to availability.
Payments
Payment is due according to the terms of the selected service.
Sit Down & Beyond may maintain a payment method on file and process charges for scheduled services, recurring services, overdue balances, fees, and approved purchases unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance.
Services may be suspended for overdue balances.
Refunds, Credits, Transfers & Expiration
Clients may cancel a newly purchased service, package, membership, or training program within fourteen (14) calendar days ("cooling-off period") of the original purchase date for a full refund, provided no portion of the service has been used, delivered, scheduled, reserved, forfeited through a no-show or cancellation, redeemed, or otherwise commenced.
Once any portion of a purchased service has been been used, delivered, scheduled, reserved, forfeited, redeemed, or otherwise commenced, the cooling-off period is immediately waived and the purchase becomes non-refundable.
After the fourteen (14) calendar day cooling-off period has expired, all sales are final. No refunds will be issued for unused, partially used, forfeited, expired, or remaining portions of any service, package, membership, training program, boarding reservation, day training program, private lesson, evaluation, or any other service offered by Sit Down & Beyond.
Services purchased for one type of service may not be converted, transferred, exchanged, or credited toward a different service. Unused services, service balances, package credits, membership credits, or account balances may not be applied toward any other service, program, reservation, or product.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, all services, packages, memberships, and credits expire twelve (12) months from the original purchase date.
Failure to schedule or utilize purchased services does not create eligibility for a refund, credit, transfer, exchange, extension, or renewal.
Sit Down & Beyond may, at its sole discretion, grant exceptions in extraordinary circumstances. Any exception granted in one instance does not create an obligation to grant similar exceptions in the future.
Weather & Emergencies
Sit Down & Beyond reserves the right to modify, reschedule, relocate, interrupt, shorten, or cancel services due to severe weather, road conditions, wildfires, flooding, earthquakes, public health emergencies, power outages, utility failures, government actions, illness, or any other circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
Veterinary Authorization
By booking services, clients authorize Sit Down & Beyond to seek veterinary care on behalf of their dog in the event of illness, injury, or emergency when the client cannot be reached in a timely manner.
Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the client before treatment is obtained whenever circumstances reasonably permit.
Clients remain solely responsible for all veterinary expenses incurred on behalf of their dog, including but not limited to examinations, diagnostics, medications, hospitalization, surgery, emergency treatment, transportation, and follow-up care.
Photo & Media Release
Unless the client has opted out in writing before services begin, the client grants Sit Down & Beyond permission to photograph, film, and record their dog while participating in services and to use such content for educational, promotional, advertising, website, social media, and other marketing purposes without compensation.
Clients may revoke this permission at any time by providing written notice. Revocation does not apply to content already published.
Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk
Clients understand that dog training, boarding, transportation, hiking, socialization, off-leash activities, and all related services involve inherent and unavoidable risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, illness, injury, escape, loss, theft, property damage, interactions with wildlife, encounters with other animals, transportation incidents, and interactions with people.
Clients voluntarily assume all such risks associated with their dog's participation.
Except where prohibited by law, clients agree that Sit Down & Beyond, its owners, employees, contractors, volunteers, and representatives shall not be liable for injuries, illness, death, loss, damage, costs, or expenses arising from participation in services unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Clients remain financially responsible for any injury, damage, or loss caused by their dog's actions.
Right to Refuse or Terminate Service
Sit Down & Beyond reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate services at any time if doing so is believed to be in the best interest of the dog, other dogs, staff, contractors, clients, or the public.
Reasons may include, but are not limited to:
-
Safety concerns;
-
Undisclosed medical or behavioral history;
-
Aggression or dangerous behavior;
-
Non-payment;
-
Failure to comply with company policies;
-
Failure to maintain required vaccinations or parasite prevention; or
-
Violation of these Terms & Conditions.
Termination of services does not entitle the client to a refund unless otherwise required by law.
Abandoned Dogs
If a dog is not picked up within seven (7) days after the scheduled end of services and Sit Down & Beyond is unable to contact the owner or emergency contacts despite reasonable efforts, the dog may be considered abandoned.
Sit Down & Beyond reserves all rights available under applicable law, including transferring the dog to an appropriate shelter, rescue organization, or other lawful placement.
Clients remain responsible for all unpaid balances and any costs incurred before the dog is lawfully relinquished.
Collection Costs
Clients agree to pay all fees owed for services rendered.
If an unpaid balance is referred to collections or legal action becomes necessary, the client agrees to pay all reasonable collection costs, court costs, attorney's fees where permitted by law, interest permitted by applicable law, and any other expenses reasonably incurred in recovering the debt.
Indemnification
Clients agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sit Down & Beyond, its owners, employees, contractors, volunteers, and representatives from any claims, demands, lawsuits, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from:
-
Their dog's behavior or actions;
-
Their breach of these Terms & Conditions;
-
Any inaccurate or incomplete information provided about their dog; or
-
Their participation in Sit Down & Beyond services.
Force Majeure
Sit Down & Beyond shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, cancellations, or inability to perform services resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, wildfire, flooding, earthquakes, pandemics, governmental actions, transportation disruptions, utility failures, labor disputes, or other emergencies.
Entire Agreement
These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the client and Sit Down & Beyond regarding the services provided and supersede all prior oral or written discussions, representations, understandings, or agreements relating to those services.
Modifications
Sit Down & Beyond reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. The version in effect on the date services are booked shall govern those services unless otherwise required by law.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Acceptance
By scheduling, booking, purchasing, or participating in any service offered by Sit Down & Beyond, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
