Exclusive Dog
Daycare in
Portland

Looking for better dog daycare in Portland? Our training-based, small-group daycare supports reactive, shy, and high-energy dogs.

Portland's Newest Dog Daycare

Daycare is an excellent option for socialization, supervision during long workdays, or a break when you work from home. But nonstop play for eight hours doesn’t teach dogs how to settle and can turn high-energy pups into endurance athletes who need constant stimulation.

At Sit Down & Beyond, we offer adventure-based daycare designed around structure, enrichment, and real-world experiences. Instead of free play all day, dogs participate in guided outings like hikes, training-focused activities, and small-group adventures that build confidence and reinforce good behavior.

Training is included in the cost of our daycare, so you can feel confident that your dog is not only safe and having fun but also learning in a supportive, nurturing setting! We also specialize in welcoming dogs who were previously considered poor fits for daycare, giving them the structure and support they need to thrive alongside other dogs.

Our Dog Daycare Clients Are Bark Raving Mad About Sit Down & Beyond

“Luna and I were in a tough spot before meeting Shuli. Our vet had diagnosed Luna with fear aggression based on a single, brief encounter, and referred her to a vet behaviorist for medication and behavior modification training. Shuli was willing to provide a more in-depth assessment. I can’t tell you how relieved I was to hear him say, “this dog doesn’t need to be medicated, she needs training”. It quickly became apparent that I was the one in need of training, and Shuli has done an amazing job. His visits are always informative, effective, and entertaining! Luna has responded so well to Shuli’s methods, and I have gained confidence in my ability to respond to her needs. We have recently moved on to trick training (highly recommend!) and will be attending group sessions as well. I am so grateful for Shuli!”

Our Dog Daycare Is Ideal For…

Small Dogs

Our small-dog daycare in Portland gives little pups all the socialization and training benefits of daycare in a safe, size-appropriate setting. Small dogs are kept in a dedicated group and weigh 25 lbs or less.

Shy dogs

If your dog needs a little help coming out of their shell, our School of Socialization daycare is a great fit. We build confidence by teaching dogs to interact with or peacefully coexist with other pups.

High-Energy Dogs

Owners with high-energy dogs love our daycare services. Not because we tucker their dogs out for a day, but because our daycare trains their high-energy dogs to manage their “play” and “settle” modes appropriately.

Big Dogs

Sit Down & Beyond welcomes big dogs for a day of structured, educational fun. Whether your dog is enrolled in socialization school or an off-leash adventure hike, they’ll burn energy, build skills, and practice better manners along the way.

Reactive Dogs

Our daycare for reactive dogs offers more than supervision. With structured training and controlled introductions, most reactive dogs can learn to integrate safely with others, a principle at the heart of our training, boarding, and daycare programs.

Senior Dogs

Just because your senior dog can’t run after the ball like they used to, doesn’t mean they wouldn’t benefit from a little social enrichment. Our dog daycare is safe for senior dogs, providing a calm environment where they can move and interact with other dogs at their own pace.

Disabled Dogs

Dogs that require special accommodations or a little extra support and care can 100% attend our daycare. Your dog doesn’t let their disability hold them back from having fun, and neither will we. We’ll provide a safe environment for your pup to be who they are — a good dog!
