See Why Our Portland Dog Boarding Clients Are Howling With Joy Over Our Services

“Y'all have no idea the struggles we've been through with our new rescue pup, and Shuli literally solved two big ones in an extended weekend board and train. Context: every time we got ready to take our pup on a walk, he went bonkers with over-excitement. Then, when we were on the walk, he would try to  go after cars. It was mentally and physically exhausting, and just so stressful. Shuli was able to basically stop our pup from doing the car thing, and showed us how to manage the over-excitement. I just took our pup for the first walk back home and it was the most relaxed walk I've ever had with him! Shuli's experience and ability to read dog behavior are seriously unmatched. Shuli also addressed the issue of our pup being overly excited when we come home from errands or work (our pup has some pretty bad separation anxiety) and has given us some tools and instructions for helping him calm down when we come through the door. This is our second board and train with Shuli, and it's been the best method for addressing our pup's particular concerns. Plus our pup (both of them!) absolutely adores Shuli.”

Our Doggie Boarding Services

In-Home Boarding With a Trainer

In-home boarding places your dog directly in a trainer’s home, where they receive consistent structure, supervision, and real-life integration into a calm environment. This option is ideal for dogs who need a lower-stress setting, benefit from routine, or struggle in traditional boarding environments.

Because your dog lives alongside a professional trainer, they’re not just watched and cared for; they’re guided through daily routines, behaviors, and interactions in a natural home setting.

Single Dog Boarding (Private Stay)

Single dog boarding is designed for dogs who need to be the only dog in the environment. This is ideal for dogs who are dog-reactive, easily overstimulated, or simply do best without other animals around.

Your dog receives one-on-one care, a structured routine, and a calm environment without the stress of sharing space. This ensures safety, comfort, and a more relaxed boarding experience tailored to their specific needs.

1. Kicking Off the Day With a Little Play

2. Breakfast & a Quick Nap

– Kristen D.

Most pups wake up ready to move, play, and socialize, and we lean right into that. Each morning at Sit Down & Beyond starts with light exercise and play alongside our trainers. Whether your dog loves tug-of-war, a focused game of fetch, or simply chasing treats, we match their play style so they start the day happy, social, and physically fulfilled.

Next, we give the pups breakfast in their individual crates and offer them a little settling time while we filter dogs in and out for training sessions. Having a structured morning meal and settle time allows the dogs to have a routine that is similar to their one at home.
